For All Certifications:
For a business to be recognized as a FORTIFIED Evaluator, FORTIFIED Professional, or a FORTIFIED Roof™ contractor, you must:
- Register with Profile Gorilla and provide qualifying documentation. After you are approved, Profile Gorilla will provide a link to the exam.
- Successfully complete the appropriate FORTIFIED Wise™ training course and receive a passing grade on the examination.
Depending on the training you chose, you will have up to 4 hours in which to complete the examination and must answer at least 85% of the questions correctly to pass. Three attempts are permitted within 60 days of exam registration.

FORTIFIED Home Roofing Contractor Certification
Fortified Wise Roofing Contractors are trained in all aspects of installing a roof according to FORTIFIED Home specifications. This training is intended for contractors who only install roofing and want to learn about the program or achieve certification. For more information, see the FORTIFIED Roof Contractor Handbook.
FORTIFIED Home™ Evaluator Certification
FORTIFIED Home Evaluators provide third-party verification of compliance with FORTIFIED requirements for homes where property owners or builders are seeking a FORTIFIED designation. For more information, see the FORTIFIED Evaluator Handbook.
FORTIFIED Home™ Professional Certification
The Fortified Home Professional course is intended for those who provide general construction and/or design services for homeowners and other key stakeholders. Roofing contractors should take the FORTIFIED Home Roofing Contractor training. This course covers FORTIFIED Roof™, FORTIFIED Silver, and FORTIFIED Gold requirements. If You Fail a Certification Exam
Candidates who fail the certification exam after three attempts and want to continue with the certification process must re-take the FORTIFIED Wise™ course and examination. The candidate is required to pay all appropriate fees.
If a candidate still does not pass after taking the class and the exam twice, the candidate must wait 6 months before retaking the course and the exam. The candidate must again pay all appropriate fees.
